Best Trick; Best Lap Dog; Best Dancer; Best Spots; Best Old
Timer; Best Puppy Love; Best Costume; Best Jumper; and Best Tail
Wager.
The dog events were $20 each. Registration the day of Wagapalooza (May 17)
was also held from 4 PM to 5 PM.

| This is the eighth year of Wagapalooza. Thanks to Jeff and Jen Donnelly of Jolly Dog and Moe Chabuz and the late Doug Sica of Skinny Legs, Wagapalooza has become the major fundraising event for the Animal Care Center. Wagapalooza had always been held at Skinny's in Coral Bay, but it finally outgrew that venue.
Thist year marked the third time in Cruz Bay and this year proved to be even bigger and better. Wagapalooza organizers had some new ideas to combine with the good old standards. With Waga
in the evening we attracted more families and more dogs (it was cooler!!!!). There were several food and drink venues. |

Volunteers solicited ads for the much coveted Waga t-shirt.
You can still get a t-shirt on-line or at Marketplace on Thursdays. Volunteers the day of
were numerous, and the event could not have succeeded without them.
Plan to help us next year, call
the ACC to volunteer. |
| In order to keep things running smoothly, we had several days of pre-registration for the dog events.
Every Thursday in April and May we held pre-registration at the
Marketplace from 10 AM to 2 PM. The ACC adoption clinic is held
every Thursday, so we incorporated pre-registration with that
event. |

All monies donated for this event will go to the Animal Care Center. This is the big money-raiser to keep the ACC going. |
Wagapalooza 2008 Raised Record $$ for
the ACC
Wagapalooza 2008 set new records on Saturday,
May 17th raising almost $28,000 for the Animal Care Center of
St. John.
Over 50 four legged registrants strutted their
stuff into the hearts of the enthusiastic crowd.
With almost as many non-competing dogs on hand to wag on their four
legged friends, the day was filled with lots of nose sniffing, tail
wagging and great fun by both the dogs as well as their human pets. |
